10 November
The weather’s windy and rainy here, and I’m very happy not to be alone, I work from memory on bad days, and that wouldn’t work if I were alone.
Gauguin has also almost finished his night café. He makes a really interesting friend — I must tell you that he knows how to cook perfectly, I think that I’ll learn that from him, it’s really convenient.
We’re very satisfied with making frames with simple strips of wood nailed on the stretching frame and painted, which I’ve started doing. Do you know that Gauguin is partly the inventor of the white frame? But the frame made from four strips of wood nailed on the stretching frame costs 5 sous, and we’re certainly going to perfect it. It serves very well, since this frame doesn’t stick out at all and is one with the canvas.

Our paths must be crossing though we are on different planes. It is rainy here today, 10 November, 2009. And I now do not feel alone as I know you are still here. Today I am working on copper, hammering and annealing, and moving the flat plane into a 3-dimensional object. I drown it in powdered glass and heat it. The beauty of the glass with the copper reflecting through is amazing. It’s my latest addiction.
I feel our paths have been intertwined throughout life, and most times on the same plane, while not talking about aeronautics. One of my own artist friends had just recently left on one of those that we’re not talking about, with his son Jack. They went to New York to visit with his other son and Jack’s brother Nels. It would be nice if others understood exactly what I was saying,… but, as most know and can see for themselves, there is a little rambling going on in my writings.
As far as white washed painted frames, I still like the ones you had made yourself,… you know,… the ones you had made and painted with the same oil paint that you had used in the painting itself.
I just had to say and tell you,… when I first saw Marks Bangerter’s works of art, in those skinny little frames, it reminded me so much of those frames you are talking about.
Cheers!

ALone?
Yep,… my artist friends are back from their trip, and also brought back a few paintings of theirs from New York. Mark & his son Jack Bangerter are on face book if you want to check out some good art work.
